A HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Having had an extremely busy six weeks or so, January 1st seems like a very long time ago. At the beginning of a new year, one is often prompted to look back over what transpired during the past 12 months.
TOMORROW’S WARRIORS
For us, 2018 was a bit of a whirlwind. In fact so much so, it is unclear how we managed to fit it all in! We released the Martin Taylor Joya, which received a fantastic response from customers and the press. We held a couple of raffles to help support the 2018 Swanage Jazz festival, and the Nigel Price Trio monster 60 date UK tour. We were thrilled that a combined amount of almost £6,000 was raised. We were even more delighted to then learn that Howard Laws, winner of one of the raffles, kindly offered to donate the guitar to The Tomorrow’s Warriors. Tomorrow's Warriors is a very worthy cause, focussing on educating, and the professional development of some of the most exciting, most diverse new, emerging and established jazz artists in the UK. The guitar is now being put to good use there.
COLLABORATIONS 2018 also led us to some great product and Artist collaborations. Specifically, one with Mark Stow at OX4 pickups in Oxford. He designed, developed, and now produces, a wonderful set-in, handwound humbucker for us. Secondly, with James Millman who now hand rubs and oil finishes some of our custom order models. And we have been working with some great players on some very interesting signature collaborations. More on this in the near future.
MARTIN TAYLOR PATREON MEMBERSHIP
We made extensive audio recordings for the web site, and filmed with Martin Taylor as host for his Patreon membership web site. It isn’t often that one has the privilege of rubbing shoulders with members of jazz guitar player royalty, all in the same room at the same time. Some wonderful playing by Giorgio Serci, Ciyo Brown, Nigel Price, and Martin Taylor, with videos coming soon, as part of Martin’s Patreon membership.
NEW MODELS COMING SOON!
Yes, on reflection, 2018 was a great year for us and we really couldn’t have asked for anything more. But 2019 promises to be a great year too. We have been working hard, and have developed some outstanding new products. Namely, the Londoner, the Ambassador, and the Fibonacci Fibonacci, all of which we aim to release in the very near future. Thanks for all your support over 2018!
