MAX ZENTAWER
The German guitarist and composer Max Zentawer is deeply connected to jazz and Latin American music. For the stylistically changeable and versatile musician, the boundaries between the worlds of jazz, rock music, avant-garde and improvised music flow into each other, which is decisive and decisive for the work in his own projects as a studio musician or as a composer. Max Zentawer gives concerts internationally and can currently be heard with his own trio, as well as on numerous CD productions in which he has been a guest musician.
Musically, the guitarist, who lives in Freiburg, traveled not only to the German-speaking part of Europe, but also to the Benelux countries, Italy, Portugal, England and Eastern Europe. Activities as a guest lecturer and concert tours have taken him to the USA and Indonesia, among other places.
The musician from Frankfurt/Main learned and developed his craft, his experience and his maturity on stage. He deepened his knowledge through numerous stays abroad, guest study visits and master classes, e.g. with Mick Goodrick, Jim Hall and Enrico Rava. The formative experience in the Anthony Braxton Workshop Band and the collaboration with John Tchicai had a major influence on his development.
In addition to his teaching activities, Max Zentawer is the author of several textbooks. He leads specialist didactics seminars and is a renowned workshop lecturer in Germany and abroad.
